The biggest change in the UK vehicle parc in recent times has been the growth of the common rail diesel engined vehicle. Almost a year ago in August 2010 the number of new diesel cars being registered overtook that of petrol ones. The number and age of common rail pumps and injectors "on the road" is increasing all the time and now new technologies like piezo activated injectors are upon us. The second biggest change is probably the turbochargers that are fitted on these common rail diesel vehicles, it's another product that will become a "bread and butter" item. Finally the third recent significant change has been vehicle air conditioning - now well established and becoming an ever more familiar job in the workshop. So how well equipped are we to deal with the unstoppable tides of diesel, turbos and air con? As far as Carwood are concerned we are definitely in the "trying hard" category, with off the shelf product ranges and technical support services available to the motor trade for all three of them.

The general view is that we are out of the recession and there is no sign of a "double dip" either. Car sales are up and with a bit of luck we will have a decent summer in the service and repair sector as well. With that in mind this issue of the Carwood "TIPS" newsletter includes the seasonal topic of air conditioning, with a biefing on the new legislation and what it may mean for you, there is also a nice offer on Bosch injectors plus a look at "biodiesel" fuel.
